Support Groups

Meeting other parents can provide invaluable support and a way to access really useful information.

Camden has a number of organisations that can help put you in touch with other parents who also have children with a special educational need and or disability, as well as provide you with information and advice.

Camden Special Parents’ Forum is a growing network of over 250 parents and carers of 0-25 year olds with special education needs and disabilities.

The forum runs meetings and training workshops for parents to help them to access the information and skills they need to support their families. Anyone who is looking after a child or young person with special needs (who lives or goes to school in Camden) is welcome to join the Forum, either as a regular or occasional visitor.

‘Contact’ run a national helpline for parents and carers in any part of the UK with a disabled child aged from birth to 25.

Call them on:  0808 808 3555
Monday- Friday between 9.30am-5pm
Calls are free from UK landlines and UK mobiles.

Parents can also access online advice and support from the Contact website: www.contact.org.uk
